The Fastest, Simplest, Most Efficient QuickBOLT Design Yet

In 2010, QuickBOLT changed the installation game with the patented QuickBOLT. This year, they are introducing the fastest, simplest, and most efficient solar mounting system yet – the QB2.

Like the extremely popular Low Profile QuickBOLT, the QB2 utilizes the 100% leak-proof, code-compliant, and UL Certified Microflashing®. Microflashing® is a stainless steel backed EPDM washer that, when compressed, chemically bonds to the roofing to create a watertight seal. It can be installed on Asphalt Shingle, TPO, or EPM roofs without lifting shingles or removing nails and staples. This saves installers time AND reduces their risk of leaks or compromising the roof.

The original QuickBOLT and Low Profile QuickBOLT were already innovative, but several upgrades have been made to the new QB2 design which set it apart from the original QuickBOLT.

Only 3 Components The QB2 is comprised of only 3 components: Microflashing®, an L-Foot, and a Dual Drive Shoulder Screw. There are no more Nuts needed to tighten and secure the L-Foot! Not only does this simplify the installation process, it also cuts down the installation time by more than 50%.

Error-Proof Compression The QB2 doesn’t leave any room for user error when it comes to Microflashing® compression. Once the Dual Drive Shoulder Screw is secured, the Microflashing® is compressed on to the roof – forming a watertight seal.

Dual Drive The new Dual Drive Shoulder Screw design can be driven using a standard 1/2” Hex Nut Setter or a 6mm Hex Driver. Installers can use the drive that works best with the rest of the components of their array.

Sealant Is Your Choice The QB2 has passed both the ASTM E331 and ASTM E2140 water tests with no leakage with AND without sealant. This means that with the new QB2, sealant is now your choice! Installers can say goodbye to the messy and time-consuming step of inserting sealant into the predrilled hole.

All of these design changes help make the QB2 faster, simpler, and more efficient than the already fast simple, and efficient QuickBOLT and Low Profile QuickBOLT mounting systems.

The new QB2 is changing the way solar is installed, and it’s only the beginning. Throughout the year, QuickBOLT will continue to roll out new products catered to installers to help them save time and money up on the roof.

Interesting that Solar Power World had an article recently about EPDM not being compatible with asphalt shingles. Why this choice vs in materials for the “flashing vs Silicone?

We encourage all installers to ask their product suppliers these questions to ensure they have the right product for every job.
